Starring Daniel and Helena Blackman

Following two sold out runs the show returns for two weeks only; this magical evening of cabaret celebrates a century of Sherman song writing.

Robert and Richard Sherman are the most successful songwriting partnership in the history of Hollywood, composing more movie musical songs and acclaimed film scores than any other writing team.

From the Oscar-winning Chim Chim Cher-ee to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds in Mary Poppins to the unforgettable Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which earned them their third of nine Oscar nominations, their songs have entertained the world for more than 60 years.

Third generation songwriter Robert J. Sherman (Love Birds, Bumblescratch) narrates the story of his musical family. From his Grandfather Tin Pan Alley writer Al Sherman who wrote popular songs for performers as varied as Al Jolson, Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday and through to current day with songs from his own fringe hit Love Birds.

Little Shop of Horrors is a 1950s sci-fi spoof musical with a hilarious and fearsome plot and a collection of great songs – and lots of foliage!

Elegies For Angels, Punks and Raging Queens

Elegies For Angels, Punks and Raging Queens is a song cycle with music by Janet Hood and lyrics and additional text by Bill Russell. The work features songs and monologues inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology. Each of the monologues is written from the perspective of characters who’ve died from AIDS and the songs represent the feelings of friends and family members dealing with the loss.

The piece was developed in the late 1980s and was originally titled “The Quilt.” It was produced first at the Ohio Theatre in Soho in NYC in 1989, where the new title was adopted. In 1992, it was produced at the King’s Head Theatre in London, where it played for several months. In June 1993, the production was transferred to the Criterion Theatre in London’s West End.

Bill Russell has adapted the piece over the years and has kindly given us permission to be the first people to produce this “new version for the 21st century”.

The evening is not only there to raise much needed funds for The Make A Difference Trust but also to help raise awareness about Aids which is still as important now as ever before.

The Opinion Makers

Critically-acclaimed writing duo Brian Mitchell and Joseph Nixon have assembled a wonderful cast of characters for this brand new musical comedy, including: the hapless Fernsby and his useless sidekicks; a beatnik Advertising phoney and his jazz flute playing muse; a Scottish Laird with a dark secret and a glamorous American gold-digger wife; and an insane Home Secretary-in-waiting.

What’s more, they’ve written a raft of great new songs that’ll transport you back to the world of ‘swinging sixties’ London for this hilarious, off-beat musical take on the birth of the political pollster – think Mad Men meets Carry On!

Little Women - Concert Version

Little Women was written by Louisa-May Allcott in 1868 and has stood the test of time, still being a popular story with today's teenagers. It tells the story of four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy who, through a series of happy and sad events, grow up into 'little women'. It is said that the story is loosely based on the childhood of the author and her experiences with her three sisters. It follows the sisters through love, marriage, illness, death, and the inevitable move away from the childhood home.

This performance is in aid of Gingerbread, a charitable organisation set up over 90 years ago to provide advice and practical support for single parents. Their vision is to create “a society in which single parent families are valued and where they (and their children) are treated equally and fairly.” Campaigning to improve the lives of all single parent families, Gingerbread is a national charity that offers all services for free.

The full cast are:
Gina Beck (Meg)
Helena Blackman (Belle Gardner)
Norman Bowman (Professor Bhaer)
Daniel Boys (Laurie)

Sarah Lark (Beth)
Shona Lindsay (Marmee)
Jon Robyns (John Brooke)

The Importance Of Being Earnest - The Musical

Daniel is playing Algernon in a brand-new musical of Oscar Wilde's classic comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Often described as the most brilliant comedy in the English language, award-winning scriptwriter and lyricist Douglas Livingstone and composers Adam McGuinness and Zia Moranne have transported Wilde's farcical masterpiece and transformed it into a gloriously funny and memorable musical. It's a tale of confused identities and double dealing, of a long-lost baby and newfound love - and a handbag.

This new musical of Wilde's best-known play sees Gyles Brandreth leading a distinguished company in the role of Lady Bracknell.

When: 19th June - 7th July 2012

The In-Between

Sarcastic nineteen-year-old dropout and perpetual under-achiever, Flick Wimple, has always lived in the shadow of her caring but neurotic elder sister, Alice. Since their parents died in a car crash, Alice has had to become more of a mother to Flick - a responsibility that traps them both and heightens their love-hate relationship. Resigned to the way things are, Flick determines to expect nothing exceptional from life and give little in return.

She is forced to re-evaluate, however, when one day she steps through the wrong doorway and finds herself trapped in the space between parallel worlds; the place known as The In-Between. There she is met by the mysterious, if slightly nerdy, Guide Calicus; a young man who has spent his entire life leading people between worlds. He offers Flick the chance to leave her problems behind and journey to another world and, as he leads her through the In-Between, the two begin to form a close bond, causing him to wonder what it would be like to live a life of his own.

But all is not right in the In-Between; other Guides are starting to go missing and tears are appearing in the walls... Ultimately, Flick must make a choice; to hold on to her past, her sister and the world she knows, or risk everything to try and save much more...

The In-Between is an original story of love, friendship and letting go, with both humour and heart.

Daniel and various West End stars have recorded a concept album including 7 tracks.

You can hear the tracks online or buy the album on Itunes.
